Rock n’ Roll is an awesome accelerometer-based game where you play this crazy looking ball character, kind of reminds me of a “Madball”. It has a couple of different game modes, Quest and Rock the Clock. In Rock the Clock mode you try to beat the clock. The Quest mode starts out with a storyboard and you get right into the game by going through mazes and collecting musical notes. The music as the title suggests is old 50’s rock music which is pretty cool. My biggest gripe with the game is that it made me really dizzy because the maze spins around depending on how you turn your device. The maps remind me a little of Super Mario Bros games from the Super Nintendo days. It’s a really well done game and well worth the $5 price. The iTunes reviews are a little one sided because the 3 that were up at the time of this review stated that the application kept crashing, and in fact it crashed on my iPhone the first time I ran it. I powered the iPhone off and then back on and it has worked fine since. I’ve made it a habit to try that before giving any application a bad mark because it’s probably the iPhone software rather than the game itself.
I definitely recommend this game. It might make you a little dizzy but it’s definitely fun.
