Supplier Assurance and Contractor Risk Award

The Verdantix Innovation Excellence Awards recognize the people and organizations who are instrumental in implementing successful, innovative technologies that improve processes, management and reporting.   Verdantix is an independent research and consulting firm with expertise in environment, health, safety and quality, operational excellence, smart buildings, as well as ESG & sustainability technologies.

“The Verdantix Innovation Excellence Awards celebrate the technology pioneers that are defining best practices through applied innovation. By providing a platform that recognizes their hard work, we hope to share successes that can be adopted by other organizations seeking to enhance their EHS, Sustainability and Operations strategies to deliver superior results.”, says David Metcalfe, CEO at Verdantix.

This year, Trane US has been named the winner of the Supplier Assurance and Contractor Risk category.  The award recognizes the work of a cross-functional team in the Trane Energy Services business which, in collaboration with Appruv, automated and centralized the subcontractor prequalification process across all their North American offices, improving the response time by 79% in the first year alone. In addition, administrative time required to process prequalifications has also been reduced by more than 90%.

“Thanks to our collaboration with Appruv, we have increased our efficiency and productivity, reduced our exposure to risk, increased our ability to demonstrate compliance, streamlined our processes, and eliminated rework and opportunities for error.

“As our customers introduce more rigor around their contractor prequalification processes, our implementation of Appruv has greatly aided our ability to communicate to our customer that the subcontractors working on their project are safe, trained, and capable.”, says Trane leadership.

The Results of Contractor Prequalification

Not only has the collaboration between Trane and Appruv increased efficiency and productivity, reducing the workload of administrative, operations and EHS staff, it has also provided the following benefits:

  • Improved processes, standardization, and documentation
  • Created uniform safety standards across the organization
  • Easy access to important information through a central data repository – including required EHS training, orientation, and critical rules
  • Centralized data storage for contracts, licenses, and other required documentation
  • Improved decision-making through executive level reporting and subcontractor evaluation / rating capability

Congratulations to Trane US on this outstanding accomplishment for their contractor prequalification program and well-deserved award!
